Born in Sussex, England in 1948, I attended St. Catherine's College, Oxford and the University of Surrey. After about twenty years working for British Telecomm, I solved my mid-life crisis by moving with my wife to Greece in 1994. On the whole, I find teaching English to Greek children a lot more satisfying than statistical analysis of telephone usage (!) and, in spite of the current problems in Greece, we have had no regrets about the move. In 2001, we were baptized into the Orthodox Church.
