An anti-materialistic 1970s teenager searches for Utopia, but finds the most notorious get-rich-quick scheme of the 20th century. He sets off on a psychedelic journey across America for a drug-hazed time of shag carpets and free love while trying to steer clear of farm-bred mosquitoes, a chainsaw attack, escaped convicts, angry villagers, a satanic cult and a pack of wild dogs. His journey becomes a wild ride with a busload of hippies looking for their piece of the American Dream, until he stumbles into the most notorious get-rich-quick scheme of the twentieth century.




Doug Shear is the author of two books: Rhubarb Culture, a futuristic novel set in a Miami, and American Karma - Twilight of the Marijuana Gods, a memoir about hitchhiking across America in the 1970s. He is also featured in a complilation of spoken word perforances in a book called BadAss. His play, Saint Peter at the Gate, was produced in Toronto, Canada and Boca Raton, Florida. He has also written and performed A Loophole in Law of Karma at the Life Out Loud event in Ybor City, Florida, as well as My Big Fat Greek Dick, Nitro & Glycerin and Mudfishing at the Actor's Playhouse in Coral Gables, Florida.
