The Power of Ideas

“A man may die, nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on. Ideas have endurance without death." - John F. Kennedy

Intangible, viral entities, ideas spread far faster than any physical phenomena and mold reality according to their essence.

“If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.” - George Bernard Shaw

Ideas are prodigiously powerful. They exist beyond time and space. Once shared, a potent idea has the ability to reshape reality as we know it. Anything and everything of the material realm is subject to the dominion of underlying ideas.

“No army can withstand the strength of an idea whose time has come.” - Victor Hugo

Can an idea ever be effectively eradicated? Maybe. But you would need to eliminate every single being who has ever been exposed to the idea. A seemingly impossible scenario that borders on futile. And even then, the idea still lingers in the ethers, waiting to be accessed again.

Ideas are fundamental for the growth of human consciousness. Ideas have the capacity to create swift paradigm shifts within an individual, as well as the collective. There is an esoteric quickness in which ideas influence sentience.

“Man's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.” - Oliver Wendell Holmes

Ideas hold immense power, and you’re about to learn how to harness this intrinsic potency.

What is an Idea Machine?

An idea machine is an individual with the ability to come up with ideas anytime, anywhere and under any circumstances. An idea machine embodies confident creativity. An idea machine is dynamic, open-minded and impeccably clever. An idea machine adds ever-increasing value to both themselves and those around them. An idea machine is remarkably generous, as hoarding ideas only blocks one’s ability to receive more.

Ideas and Action

There is a world of difference between the average person with one great idea who fears to pursue it, and the idea machine who chooses, out of thousands of ideas, a few to bring to fruition. The average person is stagnant, while the idea machine is dynamic. The average person is afraid to take action, while the idea machine takes action when he or she chooses to.

If you come up with an idea you wish to pursue, then yes, you need to execute it. Action is absolutely necessary in this case (which is detailed in the bonus chapter). There is no question about that. But idea generation, in and of itself, comes with a plethora of pleasantly surprising benefits.

The Surprising Benefits of Being an Idea Machine

As you’ll soon find out, the benefits of becoming an idea machine enhance the experience of life in every way. To reiterate, ideas are immensely powerful. So imagine what it’s like to always have access to an infinitely abundant stream of fresh ideas. Can you say wizardry?

The benefits of being an idea machine:
• Creativity, on a level unfathomable to most.
• Mind-expansion. It literally creates new neural connections in the brain.
• Increased cognitive function (and the vast amount of implications that go along with this).
• Increased problem solving skills and becoming solution-oriented.
• Breakthroughs. As an idea machine, chances are you’ll bring something new into the world (inventions, new businesses…etc.)
• Empowerment and increased confidence. If you can consistently come up with a multitude of ideas, are you going to wallow in self-pity? Hell no.
• An abundance mentality, as opposed to a limitation mentality. Because you always have access to new ideas.
• A deep sense of connection with something greater than your physical self.
• The ability to provide value to others. If you generate and share great ideas, people will value you more. By helping others, you also help yourself.
• Being an indispensable resource to people (piggybacking off of the last point). This will lead to more opportunities both in business and life in general.
• Improved, more harmonious, relationships.
• Doing more. More ideas inevitably lead to more experiences.
• Becoming more interesting. People who continuously present new ideas are just really interesting to be around.
• Being dynamic. An idea machine will never stagnate, for they are always coming up with new ideas.
• Continuous improvement and growth.
• Transcending boredom. New ideas and boredom simply can’t coexist.
• Imagination. Ideas exercise your imagination. They bring you into a magical state of wonder, a place far more vibrant than the dullness of most people's day-to-day lives.
• More fun. Playing with new ideas is just pure fun.

And remember, this list is only limited by your “ideas.” (See what I did there?)
