Don't Dangle the Investigators! Parodies & Participles

By Anna Nolan

Comedy & satire, Education & teaching | Paperback, eBook

While humorous, this whimsical book is aimed primarily at the lovers of English and its grammar. The book pokes gentle fun at the so-called ‘dangling’ participles and participles misrelated in a range of other imaginative ways, doing so in the context of irreverently satirical sketches.

I am a linguist/ grammarian, educationalist, writer and editor with a penchant for irreverent satire. My two burning passions are English grammar and mountains, both of which I indulge with utter abandon. After working as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language and broadcaster at the BBC, I spent many years running public examinations, developing national qualifications, carrying out linguistic research, copy-editing and penning articles and books on English grammar, punctuation and usage. I also produce a blog, Flaming English, in which I write on the subject, alternating between jocularity and sobriety. My website/ blog can be found at: http://flaming-english.com/.
