Captain Alberto Dicer’s ship, El Dreadful, is damaged in battle. El Dreadful runs aground on Rattlesnake Island while soldiers are building Fort Matanzas. Alberto and his pirates convert El Dreadful into a kitchen featuring Spanish rice dishes. Alberto hides treasure chests.

Charles Frankhauser is a graduate of the US Naval Academy. His years at sea include service aboard a destroyer and a diesel-electric submarine. He endeavors to visit many of the locales in his novels prior to writing his books.
