Nashville by Morning

By Maxine Douglas

Romance | Paperback, eBook

NASHVILLE BY MORNING is a story about two people who fall in love in the ‘make or break’ world of country music. Heather Braun receives an invitation to visit relatives in Nashville. A frustrated writer, she falls in love with the southern ways and decides to stay, intending to break into the music business. James Sheridan is the son of a legendary performer. He and Heather meet in Nashville and they fall in love. Eventually, the two marry and become music partners. After Destiny’s Love Song is recorded, their songs bring them almost to the top, until a Montana storm causes an accident and James leaves the tour bus, and his band, in search of help. Instead he encounters the harsh storm, becomes lost until daybreak, and is stalked by a very hungry mountain lion. If not for the expert shot of a mountain man, James would have been the cat’s breakfast. Badly hurt, Buck takes James to his cabin where he nurses him back to health and gets him back to civilization as soon as weather permits. Heather goes into a deep depression and retreats to Wisconsin, where she spends months dealing with the probability that her husband will never be found. Will Heather find the peace to move on with her life? Will James return to find the woman whose memory kept him hopeful of the future and reach Nashville by Morning?

Maxine Douglas first began writing in the early 1970s while in high school. She took every creative writing course that was offered (grammar was not her best course) at the time and focused her energy for many, many years after that time on poetry. When a dear friend’s sister revealed she was going to become a published romance author, that was all Maxine needed to get the ball rolling. She finished her first manuscript in a month’s time. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Maxine currently resides in Oklahoma with her husband, and is a member of Romance Writers of America, Oklahoma Romance Writers of America, and the Oklahoma Writer’s Federation, Inc. One of the many things Maxine has learned over the years of her life is that you can never stop dreaming and reaching for the stars, because sooner or later, you’ll touch one, and it’ll bring you more happiness than you can ever imagine. She feels lucky and blessed, over the past several years, to have been able to reach out and touch the stars—and she’s still reaching.
