Born in Norwich, Matt Durrant writes quirky-but-challenging SF and contemporary tales of life, death and romance. His debut novel, Yoshida: Death of a Salaryman, was selected as winner of the 2014 Fiction Slam during the Off the Shelf literary festival. His jobs have included teaching English in Japan, dispensing glasses at an opticians and handling staggering amounts of money as a lowly bank admin assistant. His travels have taken him to South Korea, Japan and Finland, but he now calls Sheffield his home and works as a copywriter. When he’s not writing, Matt enjoys acoustic guitar noodling, making sushi (poorly) and abusing the free tea and coffee making facilities in hotel rooms.
