W J Lennox

I’m a Scottish indie author who writes fantasy novels for young adults. The Caves of Tavannar is my debut novel and the first book in The Crystal Keeper Trilogy. Set between present day Scotland and the medieval world of Galidom, the trilogy crosses the genre boundary between modern and high fantasy. My inspiration for the story blossomed from finding a piece of volcanic rock on a beach in Normandy. I have always been fascinated by the unusual, the inexplicable and the paranormal, which has been a huge influence on my current WIP. My writing also draws on many cultural references, such as Nordic and Celtic mythology/history and from some fantastical locations around the world. I live with my husband and two sons in the rural countryside of the Scottish Borders. Before I became a writer, I worked as a Senior Occupational Therapist in the field of neurology and medicine for 10 years. My other passion has always been art and design. When I was younger, I was never happier than when I had a paintbrush in my hand. These days my artistic skills are more rusty, but I did achieve a professional diploma in Interior Design in 2012, so I’d like to think I still have a good eye for design. I’m currently working on the book #2 of The Crystal Keeper Trilogy, The Book of Seven. This will be available to pre-order in January 2016.
