Romney Hole

By Wallace E Briggs

Action & adventure, Children's, Fantasy | Paperback, eBook

Teenagers Zach and sister, Rachel, live on a farm in the Yorkshire Dales. Their preferred leisure time activity, when farm chores are done, is potholing in the nearby complex of tunnels and caves. A fine spell of dry, warm weather has exposed a new labyrinth and the temptation to explore cannot be resisted. They did not expect to discover an alien life-form: the survivor of a probe which landed on Earth many years ago. The alien befriends them and wishes to pass on his formidable powers to the siblings before his energy dissipates. In so doing they acquire tremendous powers which allows them to surf every network on the WEB. Together as the Interlect, they determine that Earth will not follow in the self-destructive, computer-driven pathways that overcame Sharnian society.

Wallace was born on the outskirts of Durham City and for almost forty years never strayed more than five miles distance. He first met Pat when they were walking home together from school, when they were 11 years old. Married in 1964, Pat and he spent many happy years in the North East before employment took them to Sussex. After more than twenty years in Sussex and Hampshire, employment was again responsible for the move to beautiful rural Lancashire where he now lives in Great Harwood with Pat, a long-suffering (disabled) wife, and widowed sister-in-law Denise.
