Still Stinky After All These Years, Volume 3

By Peter Grant

Comedy & satire, Short stories | eBook

This collection covers more than fifty years of Stinky’s life, including “now it can be told” incidents from his shocking youth. Hopefully, by the time you get to the end of the collection, you will have forgotten how slutty Stinky used to be. Four of the tales reveal that Stinky not only became an uncle, but a peerless one. We see nephew Gradey first as a sonogram (“Babies ‘R Stinky”), as a child (“A Stinky Baby Boom” and “It’s Stinky at the Zoo”) and even as an about-to-be grandfather (“Stinky’s September Song”). Gradey appears frequently in future volumes and is as loved by readers as his uncles. Two stories take place in the bustling offices of Carter Associates. Human Resources lacks a procedure for missing undies and the aggrieved party goes straight to the top in “Stinky Panties.” A nasty cold interferes with his monthly webcast in “A Stinky Cold.” Guest stars abound and they always mean trouble for Stinky. When a visiting organist arrives at Stinky’s church closely followed by local police, the FBI and a circling helicopter, the rector calls Stinky to restore peace. Stinky shows grace under pressure when Eddie’s mom seems to be moving in with the boys instead of the condo she bought down the hall. Even the remarkable Detective Eddie can’t solve this one alone. Stinky is an old man at the end of Volume 3, but will return in Volume 4 as a lad in his late twenties and his youth will renew at the start of every subsequent volume. Okay, it’s odd to give the last story before you get to the middle, but unlike "Lost" fans, Stinky fans know where they’re going.
