The Life Lived

By Ian Murphy

Literary fiction | Paperback, eBook

A lifetime ago, Sarah Morgan wanted to die and did. Now, in the middle of nowhere, neither here nor there, her cantankerous widower, Miles, struggles to recall that which is best forgotten. Having lived an inconveniently long life in the depths of the Scottish Borders, he now approaches his own end with more questions than answers. Miles navigates unreliable, fading memories of his wife, their life together, and the devastating aftermath of her mysterious death. With the help of only a loyal sister-in-law and the memory of his masochistic younger self, old Miles Morgan must overcome suspicions, betrayals, truth and love to find peace of mind before his own time runs out.

As a boy, Ian wanted to be a writer. More specifically, he wanted to be a novelist. Even more specifically, he wanted to be a knovelist with a silent 'K'. Nevertheless, Ian continues to pursue that dream. It is said that everyone has a book inside of them and Ian has had his debut novel, The Life Lived, surgically removed and self-published, while continuing to write short fiction and a second novel when his two young children allow it.
