Born in York, UK, Tony Thompson worked in printing and publication, radio and television engineering and education before retirement, when he self-published three successful electronics text books. A further two technical books were published commercially. A great many articles on a variety of topics have been published over the years in several magazines. He was the head of the Faculty of Art, Design and Technology at a prestigious secondary school for 25 years. In fiction, Tony's specialism is the murder mystery, with elements of the paranormal and hauntings, adding suspense and danger to the plots with the specific aim of writing books that, once started, grip the imagination of the reader and cannot be put down; but always the stories are grounded in relationships and the human condition and are intentionally quite believable. A first book, 'The Mind of Charles Allen', is published under the pseudonym 'Robert Laing'.
