Harmless, she decided as she laughed and slid off her seat, leaving her hand in his. Although she knew it would drive her crazy to be pressed up against him, she thought he was just offering a friendly gesture and she was foolish to show reluctance.
Clark led her to the far side of the dance floor, as far from the band and the bar patrons’ eyes as he could and took her in his arms, holding her close. She fit against him perfectly, warm and soft and leaning down with his face in her hair, he closed his eyes to enjoy the feeling of her hips swaying under his hand. He couldn’t recall ever feeling such a sensation before. A mixture of contentment, peace and such raging lust he couldn’t breathe.
They didn’t talk, they just moved slowly together entwined. Alayna was glad he didn’t say anything because she couldn’t think right now. She rested her temple against his lowered chin and breathed in his scent, a soft hint of cologne and a smell unique only to a man. Her lips were a whisper from his neck and she would have liked to taste him there but that was not a step she could ever take. She had known she wanted to be here against him with her arm around his muscled shoulder and her hand at his neck, but she didn’t know how intense it would feel. How would she ever forget the way it felt to be against him?
