Charlotte's Cross

By Paul Marriner

General fiction, Literary fiction | Paperback, eBook

Loss, Forgiveness, Redemption When Jay’s father dies and she learns of his secret life as a musician, she is driven to understand more and search for Charlotte, the mother who left when she was young. Jay’s search takes her to Portugal and the exclusive bordello where Charlotte lived. But Charlotte has spent the years fighting her own demons and trying to re-kindle her faith and is no longer there. At the bordello Jay meets and falls for Jackson, one of the girls working for Alex, the manager. Alex hinders Jay’s search but she is helped by Jackson, who wants to escape the controlling Alex. Together, Jay and Jackson continue the search for Charlotte, needing to find her before Alex can track them down.

Paul grew up in a west London suburb and now lives in Berkshire with his wife and two children. He is passionate about music, sport and, most of all, writing, on which he now concentrates full-time. As at 2014 Paul has written two novels and a collection of stories; his primary literary ambition is that you enjoy reading them while he is hard at work on his next novel (but still finding time to play drums with The Red Sticks).
