Drinking in the Park

By Fergus Anthony

Short stories | eBook

An old man goes drinking in a local park, as he watches families and kids enjoying the afternoon, he recalls the events that led him to be an old man drinking in the park, and realises that he destroyed his own life.

I've been inventing stories since I was a child. My first, and so far only play, Trial of the Living Dead, was produced in Cardiff in 1991. I was so thrilled by the response that I wrote a novel, now lost. I went on to train as an actor and work in community theatre. I wrote a few screenplays, none of which were produced, and started writing prose again about ten years ago. After many rejection slips, some funny ones and one with good writing advice, I decided to indie publish my books. I'm still trying to figure out how to sell them!
