Action & adventure, Romance, Sci-Fi | eBook

Stuart volunteered for the mission without knowing where he’d be going. He found a bitter sweet mixture of terror and tenderness on Mars. He was facing his worst fears deep under its surface. She hadn’t volunteered but fate had selected her; she knew she’d no real choice. The terror aeons old would have to be confronted; deep below. Their ally wasn’t even human; a crazy non-human genius; you couldn’t make it up. Their ally would pit himself against something he didn’t know existed. A peer. Would the struggle lead to victory or be his nemesis? Didn’t life know it isn’t supposed to be like that? Love and terror don’t fit well together. They’d have to face both here; they’d face them together. Would they prevail? Would they survive? The answer lies far away in a desolate but beautiful place. Forbidden – It would be joy or pain. Or both.

One of Stephen Makk’s earliest writing assignments was set by a teacher; “Imagine yourself to be a Roman war correspondent,” she said; he did rather well but left the craft for years. He became an Engineer; he practised and lived in Lancashire, Teesside, Suffolk in England and Canada. He now lives in Northern England. He's travelled extensively and dived in many of the world's Seas and Oceans. Curiosity fuels the imagination and what if? Is its offspring. He likes to frame a story or scene from an unusual angle when possible and sometimes does anyway even when it isn't. If it's there think about it; if it's not, think about it until it is.
