Golden Shadows

By Amitava Mazumdar

Poetry | Paperback, eBook

This book of poetry is dedicated to the unsung poets of all the times who have not been able to bring their finest skill of verse into light. All shades of emotion carry this book. Whether it is religion, sex, terrorism- everything glinted with a subtle impression. I wrote this book while listening to the fajr, while passing through the lanes of brothels, when people get traumatized after a terror attack, while sitting alone before a tall monastic hill and listening to the silence only- I do solemnize silence that breeds thoughts and dreams which brought out my GOLDEN SHADOWS. Read it with patience.

An insane poet rejoices in lazy wanderings. Believes that- besides a wailing river, a wandering poet rejoices. I live in India, a Hindu by religion. Pens every thoughts that breeds another thought and goes on and on. My first poem A TREE DIED INSIDE ME was published in a newsdaily, The Statesman from Kolkata in the year 2005. My best of the lot I have ever written is the poem GOLDEN SHADOWS with this starting line- My shadows are getting smaller and smaller to a drop of a spherical black. I hope I have put what I endured and felt throughout. A poet has nothing a lot to say. He lives in his thoughts and dreams. I do follow that path and will do so forever.
