Poetic Portions

By Cynthia Sharp

Food & drink, Poetry | Paperback

Canadian Poets Rap About Food! Ever wonder what fuels a poet? In this unique anthology, twenty-four Canadian poets share original recipes and verse, as they reflect on issues related to food, such as homelessness, community and concern for the environment. From homemade bread to prairie pie, Canadian writers offer the work of their hands with a spiritual flavour – the gifts of the Earth for the people of the Earth. Works have been generously donated to help raise money for literacy.

Cynthia Sharp is the author of How to Write Poetry and the literary editor of Poetic Portions. She has been published in a number of literary journals, including Lantern Magazine, Toasted Cheese, Haiku Journal, 50 Haikus & Three Line Poetry and was nominated for the Pushcart Prize & Best of the Net Anthology. She enjoys photographing the exquisite beauty of nature on the west coast, where she is at work on a new poetry collection.
