The unconventional life of Haee (Haee and the other middlings, #2)

By R.S. Vern

Enhanced eBooks *, Children's, Comedy & satire, Picture books & comics | eBook

Restless with the material comforts at home, Haee ventures out and meets a middling cat, Whie, in the back alley. Fascinated by Whie’s way of life and driven by a need to establish some form of discipline, Haee creates a new set of rules for all the middling cats living in the alley. The alley becomes known as “Green Alley”. Over time, some begin to break the rules. While “playing police”, Haee starts to question the soundness of his rules and the need for these rules. Scathing, but fair, cat Haee is as ordinary, average and conventional as it gets. But he represents the insecure and noncommittal persona present in many of us today. R.S. Vern is the creator of book trilogy series: Haee and the other middlings. She is the winner of the IndieReader Discovery Awards 2013 under kid’s category. Often described as an oddly conflicted soul, R.S. Vern is constantly torn between the challenges of saving the world and the reality of making a living. She calls herself a middling – urbanised, bored, and most of the time confused. R.S. Vern enjoys coffee exchanges on concepts of being an acceptable human being. Instead of writing as herself, she feels it is less brutal seeing life through the eyes of a cat. Haee is a real cat living in her home. At the time this book was written, Haee was 8 years old. R.S. Vern holds a Bachelor of Arts from National University of Singapore and a Masters of Arts from Oklahoma City University. She currently resides on a very small, urban and competitive island populated by middlings.
