Writing the Stars

By Shauna Bickley

Women's fiction, Romance | Paperback, eBook

Anna King is an astrologer with a lot of problems in her life. When she discovers her boyfriend has been cheating on her and she is about to lose her part-time job as a cook, Anna’s belief in love and in her talent is shattered. If she couldn’t figure out Oliver was sleeping with someone else and that the café owner was about to sell up, how can she call herself an astrologer? Anna and her best friend Corinne need work, but when they don’t have any luck finding jobs they start a Girl Friday business together. As if they don’t have enough trouble with a new business and a lack of customers, Corinne decides the best way for Anna to rebuild her confidence is to get back into the dating scene. Anna’s personal and work life is about to get a lot more complicated. Even if we can find the answers in the stars, do we always understand the consequences?

To indulge my fiction writing habit I write technical manuals and training materials, and in the past I've worked as a trainer on subjects as diverse as computer systems, presentation skills, personal efficiency and a few other things I've long since forgotten. I could probably do with some personal revision on the efficiency materials! My short story, Recipe for a Dinner Party has been selected for inclusion in the Awesome Indies Anthology published November 2014.
